Come join us for the PCCA Working and Performance Nationals on September 28 in Covington, GA!

This year we will be offering a Working Seminar along with our event. All levels of dogs and handlers are welcome!

Every year, we host this amazing event to help recognize the hard work put together throughout the year - offering the most coveted "Working Kennel of the Year" award annually.

Although we offer these competitions and PCCA titles every year, we have added with these the Working Seminar and AKC titles this year to help meet the need of all our participants.

Working seminar spots are limited, we will be only taking the first 12 dogs to register. Master Trainer and Decoy Mose Hugghis, of K9 OTC will be providing the seminar. DM us to sign up for the working seminar.

All other competitions are day-of-event registration and are 20$ per entry. PCCA Temperament Testing will be available for 30$ per dog and includes a Certificate on a pass only.

A message from the PCCA:

The Presa Canario Club of America, the official club of the Presa Canario in the United States, is pleased with our longstanding
and rich relationship with the Presa Canario Club of Spain. We have celebrated together, learned together, struggled together
and grown together. It is an honor for me to be the official delegate and representative from this part of the World to the
“mother club” and founder of the breed.
It is also an honor for us to participate, as much as possible, in Spanish club meetings and hear from the diversity of
perspectives of members within the club. It has been an honor to support, promote, participate in, compete in, help judge,
and sponsor the Spanish Monográfica and to have the support, promotion, participation, judging, competition, and
sponsorship from the Spanish Club and its members at the American Monográfica and many other regional events.
We have benefited greatly from the knowledge, wisdom, and advice from members of the Spanish club with their rich
understanding and familiarity with the historical and social context under which the breed was developed. In our frequent
visits to Spain and the Canary Islands, we have been privileged to bring breeding stock back to the United States along with the
original perspective and knowledge upon which the breed was founded.
We have additionally benefitted by the close association with members of the board of directors, including the club president,
who have helped to select judges for our national Presa Canario events and facilitated the arrangements for their travel to the
United States. We are grateful for their immense assistance and contribution.
Our common goal is to push forward with the advancement and improvement of the Presa Canario breed. Through education,
conformation events, performance events, explanations of historical backgrounds, and providing a platform and authority for
experts to teach about this amazing breed, each club is doing its part to honor those in the past who commenced this work.
We are excited to continue this endeavor we have consistently and unceasingly worked towards for 27 years.

If you were unable to meet the registration deadlines for our first ever PCCA AKC Event, we are still offering DAY OF EVENT REGISTRATION for our PRESA CANARIO CLUB OF AMERICA Midwest Regional Specialty and Championships show held same venue and same weekend as the AKC event.

If you were unsure of showing in the AKC, or maybe not sure how too, DON'T WORRY, we got you #presafamily! We are flying in FCI trained judge, Jose Rivera, who will be judging under our more relaxed and educational format create by the PCCA.

HISTORICAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE PCCA

The Presa Canario Club of America, it’s Officers, and Board of Directors have been working “behind the scenes” diligently for the last 5+ years directly with the American Kennel Club (AKC), and we are fully committed to preserving the breed's health and future by establishing a presence and authority over the Presa Canario breed within this organization.The American Kennel Club, a not-for-profit organization, is the nation's oldest, largest, and most esteemed purebred dog registry.

Dog breed clubs are made up of passionate dog owners, breed fanciers, and purebred breeders. Each AKC breed has a National Club, also known as a Parent Club.The AKC approves only one Parent Club for each breed. The Presa Canario Club of America has been approved as the AKC Parent Club for the Presa Canario.

What now!?
Help us build the foundation for the Presa Canario breed within the AKC by registering your dog with the AKC FSS program and begin attending AKC functions where our breed is allowed, so we can show the whole world what our amazing Presa Canario breed is all about! Gaining full recognition with the AKC is no easy task. Dogs must first begin in the Foundation Stock Program, and then, through the dedicated work of the parent club, the Presa Canario Club of America, and the hard work of ethical breeders, owners, handlers, and enthusiasts, the breed becomes eligible to move to Miscellaneous status. The next step after this status change is FULL BREED RECOGNITION. We need your help and continued dedication to make this a reality for our beloved Presa Canario.

Help us become the best AKC Parent Club possible through getting involved! Communicate directly with your PCCA Officers and Board of Directors, volunteer your time to the Club, participate in Club events, positively engage in Club social media, and above all - keep being the best Presa Canario owners or breeders through thoughtful engagement, education, and ethical practices outlined by the Presa Canario Club of America.

Randy has studied the breed directly on the Canary Islands and has bred world renown dogs. His kennel D & G, and its productions, can be found in all corners of the earth. Randy brings his expert eye for correct Presa Canario structure and temperament to the table, with a willingness to educate and communicate - all for the betterment of the breed.

Jeannine Volpe is a professionally trained AKC judge, present in the breed since almost the FIRST large Presa Canario speciality show was held in the USA. Jeannine speaks openly about her first hand account of how the breed has grown and developed from those first state-side representations to the large community and population that can bee seen in the US today.

Folks, if you are interested in a real quality USA history of the breed, you don’t want to miss the opportunity to meet these amazing judges! Registration will be on-site, the day off, beginning bright and early at 9 am. The shows will run back 2 back, taking a break for lunch. Prizes will be awarded and Championship points available!

Cost is 40$ per show.

Sam Tossie is a long time Presa Canario aficionado, breeder and Presa Canario Club of America Certified JIT Judge.

His loyalty and dedication to the breed can only be matched by his loyalty and dedication to this great nation, the United States of America. Sam is an Afghanistan war veteran whose takes his role as this event's judge very seriously saying, "I'm all about respecting the standard, and will always stick to my training to help you understand how your dog measures up."
